California Photography and Business Retreat | Westchester Newborn Photographer

I am finally getting a moment to sit down and write about my experience in California. I decided to invest in a workshop that would not only elevate my photography, but also help my business skills,and be able to network with other talented photographers from all over the country...and world(one of the photographers came in from Germany!)

The retreat was run by a husband and wife team - Ana and Geoff Brandt. Ana led us through a couple of photoshoots and stayed with us all day and into the night just being an open book, sharing stories, answering questions and pushing us to be better versions of ourselves. Geoff spoke about successful business practices both in formal lectures and informally during our meals together. He also took time to speak to each one of our individual needs, depending on where we are in our journey.

While getting to shoot alongside a world famous maternity and newborn photographer is not something I take for granted, what I gained most from this most was the opportunity just to be with her and her husband. Pick their brains about anything that came up and gain experience through the other photographers there.

This retreat came at the perfect time, right after busy season - burn out is real and the endless hours at the computer can be very isolating. It was so nice to relax, connect, grow and recharge with other like minded individuals...who all happened to be really fun and awesome people!

I definitely see a reunion in our future!
